Jako: si sostanzialmente ho fuso solo due inquadrature, una Luna al nono giorno (la parte in luce) ed una Luna piena (per ricreare la parte in ombra). La prima è ottenuta mediando 16 scatti, la seconda meno, solo 9, perchè la luna piena è già di per se molto luminosa e non era necessario tirar fuori ulteriori sfumature. Segnale che invece è stato utile nella parte in luce proprio per evidenziare dettagli dei crateri e sfumature di colore.
Fare più scatti e mediarli significa ottenere un risultato a più alta dinamica, quindi potenzialmente più ricco di informazioni da poter estrarre in fase di post.
Saturare per evidenziare i colori una singola immagine evidenzierebbe ben presto molte chiazze di colore irregolari, la media fa si che queste chiazze si spalmino, e siano più "fluide" ed uniformi.
Chi vuol verificare i vantaggi della media delle immagini può eseguire ad esempio 2 scatti notturni ad alti iso su cavalletto, li apra con photoshop, ne incolli uno sopra l'altro e imposti l'opacità del livello superiore al 50%: l'immagine che otterrà avrà un rumore dimezzato rispetto alla singola immagine, sarà quindi ad esempio più apribile nelle zone d'ombra, oppure reggerà meglio una maschera di contrasto...
