Il momento è stato magico! Improvvisamente il cielo si è oscurato, la temperatura già insolitamente fredda è scesa di qualche grado e, per qualche breve istante, ha iniziato a nevicare !!! Ovviamente non è andata esattamente così però, per quanto mi riguarda, è stato un momento indimenticabile e probabilmente irripetibile. Al termine di una mattinata di ricerca avevamo finalmente trovato una coppia di ghepardi che, come speravamo non avevano mangiato: eravamo lontano dalle zone frequentate e forse anche per questo i ghepardi, infastiditi dalla nostra presenza, non si lasciavano avvicinare. Nel frattempo il tempo è peggiorato in maniera repentina fino a quando è iniziato a piovere: dapprima una pioggerellina fine per poi scatenarsi in un vero e proprio temporale tropicale. Gli autisti tanzaniani della altre macchine, visto che il terreno su cui eravamo in caso di pioggia poteva diventare velocemente infido ed il cielo non prometteva nulla di buono, si sono repentinamente allontanati mentre io non mi sarei mosso per nessuna ragione al mondo ed ho preferito rimanere per sfruttare la situazione. I due ghepardi di indole per nulla confidente e fino a quel momento irraggiungibili, preoccupati ed infastiditi dalla pioggia battente, non essendoci alberi nelle vicinanze, si sono accucciati cercando riparo tra i ciuffi di erba più alta e si sono lasciati finalmente avvicinare. Pioveva forte e di stravento come poche volte ho visto in vita mia e dovevo stare attento a mettermi dalla parte giusta altrimenti dal finestrino entravano secchiate d' acqua!! Finita la pioggia, spolti ma felici, abbiamo raggiunto glia altri che ci pensavano impantnati da qualche parte...
