Beautiful glimpse of downtown.
I lived there for a few months, just a couple of skyscrapers before the shangri-la and then what you see in the picture is a pamorama very familiar to me but still beautiful.
Beyond what is said about Dubai (social contradictions, all fake etc ...) I would go back to live more than willingly.
Unfortunately, however, the summer weather is (was) unbearable for me until you finally get used to it.
I also went back a few months ago and the humidity was at the limit of endurance.
Very nice also the less famous part (Deira and Bastakiya for example) as more "authentic" but now even here modernity is invading a bit everything.

Io ci ho vissuto per qualche mese, proprio un paio di grattacieli prima dello shangri-la e quindi quel che si vede in foto è un pamorama a me molto famigliare ma comunque sempre bello.
Al di là di quel che si dice di Dubai (contraddizioni sociali, tutto finto ecc...) ci tornerei a vivere più che volentieri.
Purtroppo però il clima estivo è (stato) per me insopportabile finché alla fine non ci si abitua.
Ci sono tornato anche qualche mese fa e l'umidità era ai limiti della sopportazione.
Molto bella anche la parte meno famosa (Deira e Bastakiya ad esempio) in quanto più "autentica" ma ormai anche qui la modernità sta invadendo un pò il tutto.
