Tutte le foto sono coperte da copyright. In origine Stonehaven era un piccolo villaggio di pescatori, oggi ha circa 12.000 abitanti ed è una delle città costiere con la migliore qualità della vita. Si trova in una posizione magnifica, si cela dietro la sua baia circondata da colline alte circa 100 metri, in una mezza luna di sabbia e ciottoli dove volano indisturbati centinaia di gabbiani ed altri uccelli marini. La posizione sopraelevata sia a nord che a sud, crea un senso di anfiteatro dove la luce rimbalza creando riflessi unici. Il porto di Stonehaven e la città vecchia che si trovano dietro la baia sono pieni di carattere e di interesse: case pittoresche, piccole barche ormeggiate, pub, gente che passeggia. Una passeggiata da assaporare ad ogni istante e… se non basta si può sempre assaporare un fish and chips! Stonehaven è uno di quei luoghi dove tornerei e ritornerei ancora, perché lì dove le Highlands incontrano il mare del Nord io ritrovo me stessa, libera e piena di vitalità, come un gabbiano in volo che non si ferma difronte alle intemperie. Uno di quei posti in cui non riesco a smettere di fotografare ma inutilmente perché qualsiasi scatto non sarà mai completo!
