I took this photo by putting the vase with tulips in a lightbox that I built ... has a frame made of wooden slats and the side walls and the sky are covered with a semi-transparent fabric that diffuses the light coming from external sources; the base and the bottom are instead covered with a single piece of rather heavy black fabric, like cloth, which creates the dark backdrop.
