Longomoso/Lengmoos, altopiano del Renon/Ritten ... ottobre 2017 ... Passeggiare senza meta per sentieri, campi e borghi dell'altopiano, è quanto di più gratificante e corroborante si possa domandare ad un soggiorno in queste terre. Eppure vi è stato un tempo in cui mercanti, pellegrini, viandanti e imperatori attraversavano il Renon per obbligo e non certo per diletto. Fino al XIV secolo la stretta e impervia gola dell'Isarco era sostanzialmente impraticabile ed il Renon costituiva una sorta di bretella di collegamento sulla via del Brennero e dunque un'importante tappa per i traffici e gli scambi tra il mondo germanico e quello latino: numerosi furoni i re tedeschi e gli imperatori del sacro romano impero che per raggiungere la penisola percorsero quella che in seguito sarrebbe diventata, per l'appunto, la Kaiserweg! ...
