Questa è la storia di Amalia, una trasteverina DOC, che da cinquant'anni, vive in uno di questi palazzi verso Fontana di Trevi. Sono seduta in un piccolo bar sulla via, la vedo arrivare, quasi arrancando, sto già pensando allo scatto, quando il sior Alfredo, posando il mio caffè sul tavolino, mi dice: “Visto che donna! Nu ce se crede, è l'Amalia de Fontana de Trevi e sta a servizio di una nobile famiglia da generazioni. Aveva meno di vent'anni quando è venuta qui, io ero un ragazzetto, e lei na figliola bella come er sole. E' sempre rimasta qui, adesso accudisce gli ultimi rampolli dell'antica casata”. Gli dico: “ Ma come in un palazzo così grande fa tutto l'Amalia?”. “No, no, per carità, c'è altra servitù in quella casa, lei se ne potrebbe star bona e reposarsi, come dice il signor Elio che le è tanto affezionato.
