Marken è un antico villaggio di pescatori situato in una penisola nel Markermeer (un'isola fino al 1957). Questo isolamento geografico unito ad un certo radicamento alle tradizioni locali ha fatto sì che l'antico villaggio conservasse fino ad oggi il suo aspetto con le tipiche case in legno e mattoni, coperture a 2 falde con pendenze accentuate e finestre ampie. Il paese, attraversato da vari canali che connettono l'abitato al porto, oggi è divenuto una sorta di museo a cielo aperto dove è possibile anche visitare mestieri tradizionali come la lavorazione dei tipici zoccoli di legno. #Borghi #Riflessi #Acqua #Panoramiche
