Talvolta accadono cose incredibili. Essere al posto giusto è essenziale ma non basta. In una giornata di primavera con vento da sud (ultimi giorni di marzo) bisognerebbe uscire sempre, anche quando piove o è nuvoloso. Avendo scorto uno stormo di oltre cento beccapesci che riposavano davanti a me, i chiurli piccoli in migrazione verso nord hanno deciso di fermarsi e sono scesi rapidamente di quota. Quando accelerano superano i 100 all'ora in pochi battiti d'ala. Vederne piu di 100 in una volta è un'esperienza rara ed elettrizzante.
