con Canon EF 1.4x II, 1/800 f/8.0, ISO 400, tripod. Parco del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga, Italy. Specie: Aquila chrysaetos

The photo is beautiful, but would like to congratulate especially the choice of giving up the ambushes in the reproductive period. I know that it is a sacrifice because the emotion that transmit large birds of prey is unmatched ... But I also know how some species are sensitive to disturbance inadvertently procured by us photographers. In short, living passerines! :-)
Saverio

Ps If I may, I were you I would provide more general geographical indications. ;-)

Bravo; I understand your desire to explain why this kind of photos currently leads to shame, if not to the stake. Who has devoted himself to similar shots, also of other species, known to act out of dangerous situations for individuals but convey the concept is usually difficult. You did it.

To Steff, honestly I do not know what that leftover bird, it was too torn to presuppore any species. I can only say that I once saw an eagle in flight attacked by a pair of choughs and her regardless of their croaking kept turning concentric with flights until one of them has made a "wrong move" closer too, is enough for a second she turned on itself with its claws at the top and captured. Or that time when the male of the species has led a young wild boar (I had heard grunting just before) the female over their favorite roost and then move away to feed his partner. In the many years of observations I've made many, and almost all from far away with the telescope, I spent days alone to see them fly free with the hope of being able to recover the following year ......for luck until last year were there, it will not be the same pair of 1997 but for me and as if it were. Thanks to you and everyone else for coming to see my shooting
