«Prendere possesso dello spazio è il primo atto di ogni cosa viva, uomini e animali, piante e nuvole, una manifestazione elementare di equilibrio e continuità. L'occupazione dello spazio è la prima prova dell'esistenza». ( Le Corbusier - sottolineando il rapporto tra architettura, scultura e pittura) L'attualità di questo pensiero ben si addice alle opere realizzate, dall'artista spagnola Mariangeles Guil Làzaro, nel piazzale antistante il Tribunale di Gela e nel lato esterno della fontana. L'ambiente influenza l'opera come dimostra il gioco di luci che ripropone la cultura mediterranea dandoci l'idea di palme e giochi d'artificio tipici delle feste patronali. L'opera di Guil è realizzata con materiali ferrosi, il ferro è zincato. Enormi e alte lastre di ferro colorato con diverse tonalità: dal verde all'arancio al giallo; dal blu, al verde al rosso. Enormi raggi colorati, un ventaglio di colori che svettano verso l'alto, verso il cielo, quasi a voler rappresentare un atto liberatorio: di pace, serenità e speranza. La stessa artista che parla di fuochi di luce, una luce realizzata con l'uso del colore che dà vita e vitalità all'opera. Le opere di Guil rompono la monotonia, il silenzio di uno spazio che viene vissuto, principalmente, all'interno. Il colore dà vita a questo spazio. #Notturno
