La centrale termoelettrica Enel ad olio combustibile a quattro gruppi per un totale di 2640 Mw di Polesine Camerini (Porto Tolle) ha iniziato a funzionare nel 1980 ed è rimasta in funzione fino al 2005 senza alcuna autorizzazione al funzionamento ed è stata, per l'assenza di controlli soprattutto da parte delle amministrazioni locali, la più inquinante in Italia per un lungo periodo.
