Venice, only words sent on February 09, 2015 (20:38) by Giorgio Meneghetti. 57 comments, 3550 views.

,

Venezia, case popolari dell'Area "Ex Saffa" (progetto "Gregotti Associati" 1984-1989).

@ Stephen! @ Filiberto! Thank You! I share the hope that those words come and to come loud and clear. And perhaps our photographs can, perhaps, help them. Hello

Hello George. I find the pictures very evocative. I see a figure that slowly sinks into the sand and tells you why. After I read your story as a person who is not resigned to protest more and emits only their moans and is carried away by events.
Surely a shot well cared for composition and contrast.

Thank you for your contribution and your particular interpretation Rial! Hello!

In the picture "exit" of Maron, the man is coming, in the direction of a ray of light, the light of hope, as he himself says.
In your other hand the black figure is babbling in the direction of the dark, and his words are a tangle of signs unreadable. I would say hopeless.
But now I would love to know your thoughts, because the thought of the author remains the most important, in my opinion.
Hello There:-)

Here I am Paola! ;-) In my opinion, however, once the photos (like any creative act, however) is published acquires autonomy and their lives "his" short or long existence, regardless of the intent of the author: I'd still talk to people who have created the murals! That of the author, if not the most important, is no doubt, however, say, an "authoritative interpretation", which I provide now to give, given your just and gentle request! ;-) I would treat separately the formal side of the image to that of the "meaning" that you want to give, even if, in the end, you'll see significant similarities. From the point of view of creation of the image (something I have already mentioned in the caption, and is an integral part of the speech), I chose at the outset (photo, the, end taken to flying the colleague who had to go to the lavatoryor!) partition into two equal fields (pace, alas, the rule of thirds!) clearly opposed to the form and content, on the one hand the little man on a white field (the strength of the light), the other writings on dark field ('restlessness of darkness). This choice was necessarily operate in recovery (with all the necessary arrangements) because in reality the two camps are distant about ten meters! In the division I decided just to leave the band dark green in the left half (not exactly half because I did not want to cut too much written, and here perhaps I broke another rule, that of symmetry, mah!), As the first hurdle system implosion that find the words shouted dall'omino. Luckily also penned the words on the wall have different texture in the sub-fields left more marcatee understandable at first glance (I was reminded of the concept of rubber wall) then become faint and ghostly in the black portion. In so light I left the pavement, I could easily elide: I think it is a basic element of the image, the cultural roots of that figure. I left on the figurine also deliberately smearing black ones that detach from the chin and neck: they gave me the idea of ??the strength and fatigue that character to exit the light and scream to the world his reasons. And 'this same concept of force that led me to produce a sharp image, bluntly. Turning now to the meaning, if you read what is written well before the formal point of view you also have an answer to the meaning which I attribute to the photo: the little man for me is coming out strongly from the quagmire, you are not inabissando; his words pierce the first curtain and remain, sepalbeit in vague form, in the social environment where it is, then there is hope, it is up to us all, resume, give it a shape and relaunch, this for the good of Venice (in particular, given the context) and its inhabitants, especially those most vulnerable. In summary we can say that the first title had the question mark, then, ragionandoci I added: I hope I was right! Paola if you got this far without falling asleep, you launch a dear greeting, praying that he will not remain trapped in the "walls" digital !! ;-)

Far dall'addormentarmi, I read and re-read carefully your answer, and I'm grateful for giving me so much time and so a detailed explanation.
See, I like to learn, and I try to understand.
You helped me to do so. :-)
Thanks, Paola.

Photo alienating great expressiveness.
