Scansione Kodachrome64--- Le eruzioni di lunga durata tendono a raffreddarsi in superficie favorendo gli ingrottamenti, che mantenendo l'alta temperatura veicolano lava fluida lontano dalle bocche effusive d'origine. Si creano cosi alle estremita' dei flussi lavici le bocche effimere. ---Durata piu' di un'anno, tra il 1991 e il 93, quest'eruzione sazio' per molti anni il mio desiderio di natura allo stato primordiale... Dopo i primi momenti di attenzione mediatica, l'eruzione ando' dimenticata. Niente controlli, niente confusione, arrivavo in zona, parcheggiavo l'auto a pochi metri, e via, nella piu' completa solitudine ero libero di vagare, saltellare,osservare,fotografare, sulle distese laviche... contento come un bimbo al lunapark... Poi si riempi il grande contenitore costruito per fermare i fronti lavici, formato da una diga in terra lunga 240 mt. e alta 21, la lava aggirandola e scavalcandola comincio' a fluire veloce lungo la ripida valle sottostante, minacciando il vicino paese di Zafferana Etnea. La pressione degli abitanti e il ritorno mediatico indussero le istituzioni, in fretta e furia, ad inventarsi, forti di un'esperienza fatta anni prima durante un'altra eruzione, una deviazione vicino alla fonte, per smorzarne il vigore...Se si potessero aggiungere a questi scatti anche le esperienze sensoriali di quei momenti sarebbe fantastico... il "respiro" bollente e acre, il sobbalzare con piccole scosse telluriche sotto i piedi, gli scricchiolii e movimenti continui che ti circondano e modificano all'istante tutto intorno...
