1/125 f/8.0, ISO 50, tripod. Specie: Rallus aquaticus

Once upon a time...... Ciao a tutti.

The photo of the water rail that runs on water and 'one of those images that more' we have committed the technical point of view and it also required a great deal of imagination. L 'idea and we' come to see that our friend walked the same river in search of food. It was difficult to get through at a certain point where we placed the photocells connected to finish the legendary Hasselblad and blinkers to block the movement .. We cdare 'thought, being too wide the river, to create a set course, a sort of tunnel length of about four meters built with planks of a bricklayer, with a single entrance, after which we put the flour moth where the water rail and 'very greedy. To lure him into the trap moths have sown so that lead him to the end of the tunnel, as the crumbs of Tom Thumb, for instance. The photocells were placed at the entrance, but would have to work only when he would come running. If the car had taken even while the water rail entered the tunnel we would most certainly not 'seen for a while.' While one of us, a mimetic Capannino followed the movements of the subject and the photocells lit by a remote control when the water rail was inside the tunnel, the other was stationed about twenty meters well hidden in a bush. The moment you received a pre-arranged signal coming out of the bush, crying, what he put into the alarm porciglione rushing into the thick of the reed, but to do that 'he had to make from the entrance of the tunnel, the only escape route, where the expected three flashing lights and the photocells connected to the camera. Well, do not believe it, but after a few steps, he was so taken by moths and accustomed to the sight of the crazy coming out of the bush rather than opens' run was limited to a fast pace that just lent itself to our purposes.

As I said some time ago I remembered this explanation for the capture of the water rail, how did you prepare the set, congratulations for the great work and passion, the result is remarkable ;-)

Great photo. In the gallery you mentioned two monsters Skill Fioratti Paul and Angelo Gandolfi for me, the two of them were of great masters.
