Si narra che una figlia dei Farsetti fosse molto ma molto bella e quando nei meriggi estivi transitava per le uniche vie allora praticabili cioè gli argini dei fiumi, i pescatori e i raccoglitori di canna palustre, dall'alveolo del fiume gridavano a squarcia gola "a cbela GNOCCA", da qui il nome che fu attribuito sia alla località che a quel ramo del fiume Po ancora chiamato - Po di Gnocca o della Donzella-.
