Subjects : The map is centered on the city of Nikko. From here (in front of the station) it's off to the bus stop above the falls the river Yugawa. Go down to walk along the river which offers numerous photo opportunities and you can reach the rapids and then the falls on foot. You take the bus (if you do not want to walk) to reach Lake Chuzenjii first and then the Kegon Falls (ticket fee but I do not remember the price, it's worth it though). Once you visit the Kegon Falls with the bus make a couple of stops and stop in the area of ??the temples (access in some areas a fee), a must visit because it is famous all over the world and visited by many tourists. For this reason I would recommend a visit out of season, maybe in the spring during the flowering period. Returning to the route can be done using a bus for tourists whose ticket you buy at the station. The complete itinerary (departing and returning to Nikko) can be found at the following link: http://goo.gl/maps/FxSHb

Recommended equipment : Obviously all the ITINERARY focuses on landscapes, street photography and temples. Recommended lenses ranging from 12mm to 200mm (the latter perhaps to some particulars of the cascade).

Best months : The best time to visit is definitely nikko when the city is less crowded; personally recommend the spring period coinciding with the flowering though, being Nikko at altitude, the temperature may not be very pleasant.

How to get there : You can get there pretty easily from Tokyo by train (final stop Tobunikko). The journey takes about 2 hours and you have to make a change about half-way.

Visits : Admission is free for the walk along the river and along the lake (and God forbid) I paid the falls and access to temples, as well as the bus that you scarrozzerà around through the travel.
