Questo esemplare è stato ripreso per due anni consecutivi nella stessa tana nel Parco Nazionale dei Sibillini, nelle Marche, dove l' abitat lo permette, tra rocce e prati di altura e lontano dall' uomo. Nonostante ciò, tutti gli anni incontro rettili uccisi a sassate e/o bastonate da qualche ignorante, magari solo perche' pensa che questa specie sia solo nociva e dannosa, e non sa che invece è indispensabile per la sopravvivenza del parco.
