The Fusine Lakes
The lakes occupy a vast glacial cirque and are supported by morainic cords of remarkable development. The frontal cordon, which is the main one, blocks the lower lake and rises on the valley floor over 120 meters. The Lake Superior is located at 929 m asl, has a maximum depth of 10 m and a surface of 9 ha; the lower lake is located at 924 m asl, has a maximum depth of 25 m and a surface of 13.5 ha. Near the lower lake there are also two other small pools of water, called small lakes. Lake Superiore feeds the lower lake underground and the latter feeds the emissary of both lakes.
