A Dicembre Gennaio e Febbraio ho studiato il comportamento di questa splendida femmina di Martin pescatore. Ho scoperto che durante i mesi invernali si ciba quasi esclusivamente di gamberetti, pescati scrutando la superficie dell'acqua dai posatoi preferenziali e addirittura dall'alto di qualche ramo di albero!! Durante i lunghi appostamenti, mi sono imbattuto anche negli altri meravigliosi abitanti di queste zone di pianura, ancora rimaste quasi intatte. Tali ambienti, caratterizzati da alternanza di fossi, laghetti, siepi e boschi, rappresentano dei veri e propri “serbatoi” di biodiversità, nonostante la presenza di qualche specie alloctona. Pertanto, hanno comunque un valore naturalistico inestimabile, visto che sono incastonati all'interno di contesti urbani molto estesi. Ai primi di marzo ahimè è arrivato un maschio di Martino che ha sedotto la femmina e l'ha sottratta dall'obbiettivo della mia videocamera, infatti, assieme, sono spariti dalla zona, per spostarsi in un'area più indicata per la nidificazione.
