Nelle notizie di Canon Rumors del 29 Agosto riguardanti la presentazione di nuove lenti Canon nel prossimo Photokina viene menzionato l'aggiornamento di questa interessante lente

Senza troppe pretese sono andato a controllare nel sito Giapponese della Canon e ho scoperto che il modello è segnato come Discontinued.

Spero che riescano a tirare fuori un Super Tele con le prestazioni dei nuovi bianconi serie II (anche per quanto concerne la resa utilizzando i moltiplicatori di focale). Sarebbe davvero una lente interessante sotto i 2kg di peso. Come prezzo potrebbe stabilizzarsi tra il 300 F2.8 e il 500 f4 (7.500€?)
Un'altra scimmia inizia a prendere il sopravvento... (e dalle mie parti iniziano a scarseggiare gli organi MrGreen

Speriamo.....se fosse sui 7500 lo prenderei al volo....di più prenderei il 2.8.....ovvio che la qualità deve essere super....anche duplicato.

Grazie per la segnalazione, seguirò la discussione sull'altro topic.
I 7.500€ li ho sparati io pensando al valore delle altre due ottiche (6.000€ x il 2,8 e 8.900€ x il 4). Magari partirà da 8,000€.
Certo, la definizione dovrà essere alla pari degli altri Super Tele e, come dici bene tu, anche duplicato. Dai test visti in internet la versione I non mi ha mai convinto molto e spero che lanciando il suo successore, Canon riesca a mettere sul mercato un ottica nettamente migliore rimanendo sullo stesso peso. Sarebbe una bella bestia per l'avifauna e da portarsi in giro.
Vedremo...
