Treppiede da viaggio e canon EF 100-400 L II

Ciao a tutti,
sto cercando un treppiede che posso portare in viaggio, quindi qualcosa che stia nel bagaglio (intorno ai 40cm da chiuso) ma che possa anche essere stabile per il mio obiettivo più pesante, ovvero il 100-400 canon EF II.
Avete qualche consiglio? ho provato in viaggio il manfrotto con testa a sfera e mi è piaciuto molto per la versatilità, ma ho letto che non è molto stabile per obiettivi pesanti, quindi non saprei.
Ho visto un treppiedi national geographic a cui puoi staccare una gamba e usarlo come monopiede e mi piaceva, però non ho visto recensioni con obiettivi pesanti quindi non sono ancora convinto.

L'unico consiglio che ti posso dare è prendere un treppiede con un gancio alla base della colonna al quale attaccare un moschettone e, a quest'ultimo, un peso consistente (anche lo stesso zaino con il resto dell'attrezzatura). Nella mia esperienza è quello che fa la vera differenza.

Io avevo addirittura preso su Amazon una tanica ripiegabile da 5lt, da riempire sul posto con acqua (se possibile, ovviamente) e usare come zavorra.

Il manfrotto befree che avevo adocchiato ad esempio non ha il gancio, anche a me questa cosa mi ha un po' fatto storcere il naso. No gancio, no bolle e un costo più alto, mi chiedo se effettivamente i manfrotto non siano un po' sopravvalutati
