Hi there

I'm new here and need some input/opinion on this lens from Sigma. I'm using a Nikon D7000 and shoot fast action sports and wildlife. My current Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VRI comes up short and it doesn't perform with a 1x7 teleconverter at all. I can get a used Sigma and would like to know if it is worth it as it will probably replace my 70-200...

Regards

Hi Manus there is a some talk about sigma bring out some new telephoto lens next year that will be cheaper than nikon and canon they have lifted their game with new lens i here good thinks about 120-300 lens also have a look at the new nikon 80-400vr i have been their done that i had a 300f4+1.4+1.7+2.0 tc and went for the sigma 500f4.5 lens doing away with tc they work but you need great light to get the best out of them i also have 150-500 and at the long end its soft if you go past 400 if its possible do some some test shots with the lens what i do is shoot a 10 dollar note with the
fine detail then look at them at 200% in bridge or a great program is faststone image viewer thats free this is a great
bit of software to check image sharpness its the best one i have seen hope this helps.

regards Robert McNeil
