Hi everyone! this is my first message, so first of all I'm Italian I had study photography at school until 1992. then I tried more or less to stay close to my great passion. I beg your pardon for my awful english, I studied for years, but never used... so... cut to the chase... I recently bought my Canon 50D used from ebay. I think it's a good compromise and now I have to learn how to use in the right way it. I try to have the right choice for lenses... so I've a 75-300 stabilized canon lens and I think it's not so bad for a amateur photography... now I have to buy a "standard" zoom and I appreciate the distorsion of an ultra wide-angle lens like a fish eye. I was looking for a 8-15 canon lens, but it's very out of budget! and I saw that it's not so good for an APS-C format (distorsion is right for FF) I'm trying to have more information about 8-16mm from sigma and 8mm from samyang, or the last one is the 4.5mm fro sigma. I read on this site but I can not realize if there is really value for money and for effects. May be I have to find someone who make me try them... I tried the 10-20mm from sigma, I appreciate, but I would like to have more... then... What about a Standard zoom? I'm trying a sigma dc 17-70mm 1:2.8-4,5 made I think 4 or 5 years ago not stabilized... I could have it for 200€ but I'm not sure if is the right one! what about other chances? what about tamron? I'd like to have not jumps or big jumps... 17/70mm Is may be a right compromise... but this appear to me not so clear. what kind of settings I have to have for a right test? Someone knows a place near Milan area to try lenses? Thank you to everyone! K.
