Canon 24-105 Prima serie Consumo Batteria

Buongiorno,

sono un possessore di Canon 24-105 L prima serie da circa 9 anni.
L'ho sempre utilizzato su Canon 6d e 5d Mark IV denotando fin dall'inizio un consumo ingente della batteria (pensavo fosse normale ed avendo varie batterie non mi sono mai posto il problema più di tanto).
Inoltre denoto che lasciando l'obiettivo attaccato al corpo macchina, per es di notte, il giorno dopo trovo la batteria quasi scarica. Ovviamente con tutti gli altri obiettivi sempre serie L non succede.
Questo succede su entrambi i corpi macchina.
Ho contattato Canon in merito (premetto che GPS e Wifi sono off su entrambi i corpi macchina) dicono possa essere un problema elettrico legato allo stabilizzatore.

Volevo sapere se aggiornando il firmware potrebbe risolversi la cosa?
Oppure devo mandarlo per forza in assistenza.
Inoltre volevo sapere essendo fuori garanzia quanto potrebbe costarmi?
