Sony a7iii in A priority e Flash

Buongiorno a tutti! Premetto che non sono molto esperto di flash. L'ho usato sempre in ETTL per gruppi o alla sera. Con la Canon 5DIV in A priority e Flash Canon nessun problema. Ora possiedo una Sony A7 III che uso sempre in priorità di diaframma e ISO automatici (come con Canon). Ho acquistato un flash Neewer NW880S(ovvero il Godox TT685S) HSS TTL GN60. Mi funziona in TTL solo se puntato direttamente verso il soggetto... Se lo alzo leggermente verso il soffitto o se lo alzo e tiro su il cartoncino bianco il flash fa il lampo ma la foto risulta come se non fosse attivo. Quindi ISO alti (se automatici) o foto buie.
Ho sbagliato qualcosa?
Nella Sony con flash alzato verso il soffitto mi compare la scritta :
Il flash non può essere utilizzato nella seguente modalità: Priorità di diaframma.

C'è qualcuno che ha avuto esperienze simili o è il flash non del tutto compatibile (anche lo davano per A7III) o è normale nelle mirrorless?
