Hi!! I don't know of would be better yo get the 5D mark IV (and learn directly from one of the best FF cameras) or a cheaper DSLR to upgrade my APS-C sensor. I'm a beginner but I'd like to jump in to the full frame world.

Regards

I don't know your lens collection or how you intend to use your camera so it is hard to give you advice. Personally if I were to start again I would be strongly considering Nikon. I am a Canon shooter and have too much invested in lenses to consider changing but from what I have read the Nikon D850 is a superior camera to the Canon 5DIV. If you are moving from crop to full frame it may be that you have to start from scratch anyway because your EF-S lenses won't mount to a full frame so you would then have a lot of options.

You may choose to look at mirrorless systems, I do a lot of birds in flight and the mirrorless tracking of birds and sports is just not there yet, but for just about any other kind of photography the mirrorless systems are amazing. I have a Fuji X-T2 to use with old vintage film lenses and was blown away by the things that the mirrorless systems are capable of that the DSLRs aren't.

So I guess that I am not helping at all, If you are simply going to do things like portrait and landscape then the 6D is all you need, if you are going to do sports, action, or birding, then the 5DMIV would be the better choice if you choose to stay with Canon.
