I just bought a Sony a7 camera with the kit lens, FE 28-70mm f3.5-5.6. The improvements it offers over the a850 and a very attractive price from Amazon (US) even with shipping and customs strongly recommended it. It will probably supplant the a850 as my main camera though I prefer the size and heft of the DSLR. I bought the kit lens because I don't have any e mount lenses, and it only added $150 to the price of the outfit. A little testing shows it to be very satisfactory in every respect. Mostly, though, I'll be using the camera body with my m42 manual focus lenses. A sample photo taken with the camera and kit lens is in my "Odds and Sods" gallery.
