hi everybody! i'm kinda new at photography, started studying it recently. and well far i'm interested in children and baby photography and i wanna follow that, i was thinking to buy the lens canon 50mm f1.8 . do you think that can be useful for taking photos of babies? also that it's so reasonable. and another question. does the fix focal length of this lens make you take photos from the things in a special distance only? i'll be so thankful to hear from your help! have a nice day everybody.
Hi Sheyda, Of course it is useful. On both full frame and crop sensor bodies the 50mm does the job very well. The affordable price of 50mm f/1.8 is an opportunity to try a fixed focal length lens with a wide aperture. Unfortunately with prime lenses you should adjust the distance to obtain the desired frame, but it has it's own adventures too! If you're a Canon shooter, the STM version of 50mm f/1.8 is the best.
