My Sigma 500 F4 Sport finally arrived It is a fine piece of technology and I went out in the field and tested it I started posting pictures here, in my site, and the Birds forum (mostly BIF) Check also my page and blogs in DPreview
I posted a handheld picture taken with Sigma 500 F4 @ F5 with OS ON 1/1250 titled: "See the silk thread from head to neck" You asked me about the resolution of this Sigma lens. The bird has between the backhead and the neck a silk thread from a spider's web How thick would be that? 1/10 or a few hundreds of a millimeter? It is invisible with the naked eye. If you zoom in at 100% you can see it. What is that like: 1 pixel? Can anyone tell? Feel free to ask questions. Ol G
The pictures are in this site You can see those taken with this lens; the information is listed AF is very good, nevertheless if a bird comes quickly straight in the lens it struggles a bit like any other prime
