Consiglio grandangolo: Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art ?

Buongiorno a tutti.
Sto cercando un grandangolare per la mia nikon D5300 (ora ho il 18-55 da kit).
L'intenzione sarebbe fare panorami, particolari medio vicini, qualche soggetto/particolare di strada, se capita anche primi piani o soggetti in luoghi chiusi (casa, locali), insomma avere qualcosa di abbastanza duttile e quindi un minimo zoom (ho questa idea anche se un obiettivo fisso dicono sia meglio in qualità e col tempo ci si abitua muovendo noi stessi anzichè lo zoom) e luminosità.
Guardando in giro e tenendo una spesa inferiore ai 700 euro ho trovato solo questo (Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art), vorrei prenderlo usato quindi stando sui 500€ ma l'ho trovato anche online allo stesso prezzo unico dubbio è che molti dicono che si deve poi tarare con una dock usb (che dovrei comprare) e non sò se questo sia un campanello d'allarme sulla qualità dell'obiettovo.
La taratura è una cosa che si fa una volta ogni tanto o fatta una volta non si deve più fare? Se già leggo che qualcuno la deve fare per questo modello è una cosa negativa? Qualcuno di voi me lo può consigliare questo obiettivo o un altro (sempre luminoso e grandangolare su questa fascia)?

La D5300 non ha correzione AF on camera, quindi fossi in te benedirei la presenza della Dock.

Giusto per la cronaca, 7 anni fa ho preso il Nikon 35mm f/1.8 G, e sulla D5000 aveva problemi di back focus su quel corpo, a dimostrazione che anche obiettivi originali non sono esenti dal problema
