Trovo la cosa interessante per chi scatta direttamente in JPG.
Ma di cosa si tratta precisamente ?

Il DR di Fuji?
Serve per evitare di bruciare le alte luci sottoesponendo di uno (DR 200%) o due stop (DR 400%).
Per esempio se imposti 800 iso e 400% tempo e diaframma vengono calcolati per 800 iso ma il sensore lavora a 200 iso; risultato un file raw sottoesposto di 2 stop.
Poi viene applicata una curva di sviluppo che ri-sistema il tutto. Si sfrutta la capacità dei sensori moderni di reggere le sottoesposizioni.

E' lo stesso meccanismo che usano altri (per esempio Canon lo chiama, secondo me più correttamente, priorità alte luci). Ha una vaga attinenza con la gamma dinamica nel senso che se bruci le alte luci con questo meccanismo (sottoesposizione) recuperi la gamma persa... diciamo che il marketing ci ha lavorato un pò sul nome da dare a questa opzione...

Utile se si lavora di fretta e si ha paura di essere sempre a rischio alte luci bruciate.

Come ogni altra opzione non agisce sul raw se non per il fatto di abbassare "d'ufficio" gli ISO.

Solo che la priorità "alte luci" della Canon non funziona mentre quella della Fuji s5 sì.

Un abisso ......La canon le brucia sempre le alte luci.
Una macchina che in jpg va bene solo per fotografare all'ombra.

Ma anche no Giuliano. Scatto quasi sempre in jpeg con la 70D e di luci bruciate, tranne rari casi, neanche l'ombra. E non utilizzo la priorità alle alte luci.

Non conosco la 70D e mi astengo da giudizi.
Tutte quelle ( FF) che ho avuto e provato sono letteralmente penose.....bianchi bruciati e neri che più neri non si può.
Paragonate alla S5 semplicemente non reggono il confronto.

Son sicuro per i sensori X-Trans. Il Super CCD non l'ho mai avuto e non lo conosco se non per quello che si può leggere in giro. Ha una struttura diversa quindi, immagino, adotti procedure di recupero dei toni diversi.

Con sensori recenti, più ordinari, anche il DR si è allineato ad una procedura ordinaria di sottoesposizione e recupero in post...

Il super ccd è completamente diverso dall' X-Trans. Nel super ccd ci sono doppi fotodiodi sul sensore, una parte di questi è dedicata alle alte luci, quindi non è un "trucco" via software come per l'X-Trans, ma è propio il sensore ad essere studiato per questa necessità.
