Presentazione e impostazione adattatore

Buongiorno mi presento, sono nuovo del forum, ho una bella fuji xe2s nuova con il classico obbiettivo 18-55. Da bimbo facevo camera oscura con mio padre, ebbi poi una ricoh da adolescente, poi una minox, anche una nikon reflex a pellicola che usai però poco o niente, poi sono stato preso da altre passioni ed ho sempre usato macchine shot&go, scattando tanto ma senza molta cura, fino ad oggi.
Ora, io ho preso degli adattatori per una serie di obbiettivi che risiedono in casa, sopratutto quelli della vecchia exacta di mio padre, ottiche che lui diceva belle, sicuramente luminose.
Ora di tutte le istruzioni, che ho letto più volte, la cosa che ho trovato più oscura è l'impostazione adattatore. In primis, va fatta solo se uso un adattatore ? Ovvero, le sue ottiche fuji le legge elettronicamente in automatico senza toccare quella impostazione ?
Per gli zoom, cosa faccio, metto il minimo o il massimo valore di focale ?? Uno medio ? E lo metto ricalcolato o la focale originale ?
Può aver senso ignorare questa impostazione e lavorarci in post produzione ? Le aberrazioni sono così fondamentali ?
Infine, da appassionati, un consiglio da amici. Quelle ottiche sono comunque con qualche problema, soprattutto le ghiere inchiodate e il diaframma che non si blocca bene. Può aver senso spenderci per sistemarle (in generale, lo so che bisognerebbe vederle) ?
(ps: ovviamente non ho problemi con la messa a fuoco manuale e a lavorare in priorità di diaframmi)
