Hello, has anybody already used a M42 lens on a Contax/Yashica with an adapter? We can find chineses adapters (low cost), but I don't know if it's possible to focus to infinity with this kind of adapter... Thank you. Thierry
I know that you posted this sometime ago, I have a collection of old Pentax M42 lenses, +/- 30 lenses, they are not only beautiful but optically many of them are excellent. I only use those cheap Chinese adapters for those lenses and they function just fine on my Canon DSLRs, of course my registration distance, the distance from the body flange to the sensor on the Canon is greater than that of the old Pentax Spotmatic cameras that the lenses were made for so my adapter is a glassless adapter that simply serves to properly space the lens from the sensor for proper registration. I am not sure how they will work on the old Contax/Yashica bodies.
