Beh, che dire di Zante...questa scheda potrebbe essere più completa a parer mio.
Prima di tutto Zante è l'isola delle Tartarughe Caretta Caretta...il paradiso nel Mediterraneo per questa specie! Le sue spiagge accolgono più di 150 nidi all'anno, è stato istituito un Parco Marini per tutelare la Tartaruga Caretta e la foca Monaca (sembra che ci siano 10-15 esemplare sulle coste dell'isola...io ne ho visto uno nella parte nord in lontananza).
Tutta l'Isola ruota attorno alla Tartaruga, anche se il turismo 'ignorante' crea non pochi problemi...sopratutto nella zona del Parco.
L'Isola e sopratutto i Greci devono capire l'importanza della salvaguardia di queste due specie minacciate dall'uomo.
Zante è un'isola meravigliosa, probabilmente la più bella che abbia mai visto fino ad ora...spiagge incontaminate, paesaggi mozzafiato, scogliere incredibili e luce straordinaria all'alba e al tramonto.
Unica nota negativa la zona (comunque molto limitata) turistica da 'discoteca', ma in realtà basta evitarla :-)
Che dire, promossa a pieni voti...con l'augurio che il Governo Greco e l'Europa protegga questo ENORME tesoro naturalistico.
