Quando ero un ragazzo, diciamo anni 80 del secolo scorso, ci si arrivava anche in inverno perché gli audaci potessero discendere dal famigerato Canalone Staunies, ripidissimo e molto stretto specie in partenza in cima.
Ho avuto la fortuna ed il privilegio di farlo due volte, poi rimase ucciso qualche sciatore, si disse all'epoca addirittura un maestro della scuola sci, sicché dapprima limitarono la discesa a metà percorso, a fine del pendio più impegnativo, poi come scrivi anche adesso, chiuso del tutto, per parecchio tempo.
Dal rifugio parte anche una delle vie ferrate più impegnative sul monte Cristallo, la Bianchi, famosa per il suo ponticello sospeso nel vuoto.
Lì fu teatro anche di scene del film di Sylvester Stallone "Cliffhanger".

Ciao.Dato che il rif Lorenzi e annessa stazione della bidonvia sono,purtroppo,in stato di"abbandono",si potrebbe cambiare la destinazione con:"Monte Cristallo"?

Comunque è un posto veramente stupendo,da lassù si puo godere di un panorama a 360° sulle dolomiti settentrionali.La ferrata Dibona la trovo cmq in buono stato,la passerella sospesa nel vuoto ha il suo effetto :-P
