I couldn't believe it when I read about it the first time. It really adds new amazing stuff to the 7D. I am so looking forward to load it to my camera. Customizable Auto-ISO...uhhohhhh.... Actually, I find it amazing that Canon releases such a major update for this "old-ish" camera. Does that tell us anything about a 7D Mark II...? But I am one of those guys complaining about too short product cycles. And now Canon releases an updated 5D (Mark III) just to address certain issues of the Mark II version (e.g. AF, noise@high ISO, weather sealing) without compromising the well known strengths of the 5D (MarkII) and improves the performance of the 7D with a firmware update - I like that. I really do. |

Oh Sh... What good news. I was looking desperately for GPS for my 7D and this firmware upgrade will allow me to add it with just a USB cable. |

Just can't wait. I wasn't able to find the possible date of a release. Did I missed it, or there is no exact date? |

Help! The update failed, I followed the procedure and after turning the camera off, remove the battery, inserted the battery, turning on the camera was OK/ I was prompted to set the time & date and I did. I took a test shot an got error 30. Again, remove battery, insert, turning on, test shot - error 30. Then I've repeated from step one of the update, everything was OK but after the test shot again error 30. Only in P mode I got one picture right and again - error 30. Any one can tell me what is the meaning of error 30? my entire world is collapsed on me because I have no way going back to earlier version. Now in Italian (Google translator): Aiuto! |

A late reply, has anyone had a real problem with this firmware update? I have had my 7D for a while, and I knew there was a new frimware, but I didn't update, didn't really think about it until now. Thanx |

Hello Chris, I would like to tell you the firmware version 2.03 is running very well with my 7D. There were no problems since I have launched it. Always good light. Greetings, Martin |
