Hy everyone! First, congrats Juza for the new forum, it looks great! Second, let's cut to the chase. I have a problem with the focus lock on my 7 D,being much used to my old 20 D. On the 20 D, you could select the shutter buton to focus, and while you held the * buton pressed, the focus was locked, allowing you the recompose as you wished, if the subject started moving, you just lifted your finger from the * buton and that was it. On the 7 D I can configure the shuter buton to start the metering, and the * buton to start the AF and the metering. The problem is that if I try to keep the * buton pressed and recompose, like on the 20 D, the focus shifts around, as I turn the camera. So, I have to press * once, it locks focus, I can recompose, and if the subject moves, I have to press * again to start the focus? Or perhaps should I set the shutter to start metering and AF and set the * buton for the AF-OFF function? So, a very long story cut short, can someone explain to me what do I have to do (or what I'm doing wrong )to be able to lock the focus efectively, hopefuly as simply as it was on the 20D? |
