TimeScapes, il documentario realizzato dal fotografo californiano Tom Lowe è uno dei primi ad essere distribuiti in 4k, formato ad altissima risoluzione (4096 x 2304 pixel). Il film è stato girato con la cinepresa RED Epic e la reflex Canon 5D Mark II, montato e rifinito alla stessa risoluzione. Per questo motivo, oltre alle classiche edizioni DVD, Blu-ray Disc e digitali fino a 1080p, gli autori hanno deciso di dare la possibilità di poter acquistare il loro lavoro anche in formato 2560 x 1440p e soprattutto 4k.
