Apro questa discussione per riportare un lavoro che, grazie ad un amico con ottima manualità al tornio, mi ha permesso di rendere più versatile il mio Manfrotto Modo 785b.
Come ho letto anche su JuzaPhoto, ma non solo, in tanti cercavano/cercano un modo per sostituire la testa a joystick (un po' scadente sul serraggio a mio parere).
Dopo svariate ricerche, appurato che Manfrotto non offre un ricambio per adattare la colonna e far si di cambiare il joystick, mi sono imbattuto nel lavoro di questo fotografo.
In sostanza, ha fatto tornire un pezzo in modo da avvitarlo alla colonna nativa da un lato e dall'altro lato avere l'attacco maschio 3/8".
Invece io ho preferito reperire un tubo di dimensioni adeguate (19 mm di diametro, cioè 3/4"), che ho trovato da un autoricambi (in quanto usato come tubazione negli intercooler). Ho preferito fare due altezze per colonna corta e lunga, e non un componibile come l'originale. Le due colonne sono state filettate e poi da un tondino di 40 mm di alluminio è stata ricavata la testa (con attacco 3/8" da una parte e filettatura per i tubi dall'altra).
Eccovi il risultato:

Questo fine settimana andrò a Londra, dove avrò modo di testarlo con una testa a sfera (che uso sul 055xprob) e vedrò se la modifica vale la pena.

Abbiamo scelto un passo da 1, tanto non dovevo far combaciare nessun pezzo con la colonna originale. ;-)
