Secondo voi ha senso acquistare una testa sovradimensionata per quel tripod?
Il peso non mi interessa e neanche il prezzo in futuro vorrei acquistare anche un tripod in legno e mi tornerebbe utile, grazie

Secondo me, come dici te, è sovradimensionata.
Se il tuo benro è un travel ha la possibilità di ribaltare le gambe è una testa k40x non te le fa chiudere a 180°. In pratica la testa non ci sta all'interno delle gambe.
Dovresti comprarti una benro b1 e se ti piace sirui una k20x.
Poi per il treppiede in legno potresti pensare ad un altra soluzione; il treppiede in legno mi pare che non sia così comodo e agile da portare in giro come il piccolo benro, quindi forse in questo caso non hai bisogno della velocità della testa a sfera e potresti metterci una 3 vie, oppure pur sempre una testa del tipo k40x o feisol cb50 rivestita in carbonio. Dipende sempre da come intendi utilizzare il treppiede.
Di fatto i due treppiedi hanno un utilizzo differente e in base alle tue escursioni fotografiche e a quello che ci devi caricare sopra potrai decidere quale portarti.
