Grazie a tutti per le solite preziose info e consigli.
Alla fine mi sono deciso e, con qualche sacrificio, ho optato per il Nikon 80-200 mm f/2.8 AF-S
Caspita se pesa.
Comunque dalle prime foto al volo di prova mi sembra proprio ottimo.
Farò sapere poi

stando a quanto ne esce dall'articolo su nikon rumors il tamron 70-200 vc ne esce bene!

io ho un 70-300vr e sto valutando come prossimo acquisto il 80-200 af.d sempre su D300s ma il tamron mi tenta non poco...^_^

Allora dario, come va questo af-s80-200?!?... A parte il peso, è nitido, ha un af veloce, fischia il motore? L'hai preso usato da un privato o da un negozio fisico?
Anch'io ho la tua stessa macchina e stavo cercando di capire quale tele sarebbe meglio prender tra l'af-s, il 70-200 f4 e il 70-200 f2,8 vr2... Mi farebbe tanta tanta gola l'af-s 80-200, ma ho paura di trovar un modello a cui dopo poco devo mandarlo in assistenza per la sostituzione del motore af...

L'AF-S è una gran lente, ma anche se avessi preso il Tamron VC non ti saresti pentito. Sconsiglio invece il Tamron prima serie (il Di): con il sensore della D300 non va molto d'accordo, ne parlo per esperienza diretta, mentre con la D7100 ha una resa sorprendentemente buona...misteri dell'ottica.
