io ho fatto qualche scatto con il 100-400 + 1,4x
e la qualità non è male, però con serie 1.
Non so come si comporta con la 7.

poi dipende se tu fotografi usando sempre tutti i mm oppure no.
Se ti serve la lunghezza vendi il 100-400 e prendi il tamron.

non ho capito ... hai sia la 70D che la 6D?

se hai la 70D arrivi di fatto a 400x1.6= 640 mm che non sono pochi (faccio il confronto con il mio 500 su aps-h equivalente a 500x1.3= 650 mm)

avendo anche il 100-400 io voto per questa lente... il sistema a pompa è veramente comodo per gli scatti al volo a mano libera

al limite croppi un pochino...

altro discorso se vuoi usare la 6D.... non so che soggetti vuoi fotografare ma penso proprio che la 6D non sia adatta per avifauna (trovo già la 5Diii poco adatta)

Emmemme ha ragione, però sebbene 6D non sia una macchina per avifauna, si comporta meglio delle APS-C con ottiche "buie" moltiplicate. Ad esempio, la 6D con il 400L f/5.6 + TC Kenko 1.4x, l'AF non solo funziona perfettamente sul punto centrale (come c'era da aspettarsi data l'estrema sensibilità di quest'ultimo), ma anche sui laterali, ...cosa questa che non si può dire invece per APS-C, neanche per il solo centrale. Oltre a 6D ho anche 7D e su quest'ultima con lo stesso TC, ho risultati analoghi a quelli di 6D solo con un'ottica molto più luminosa come il 500 f/4.5. Ovviamente però, con corpi APS-C puoi contare sul fattore di crop che aiuta molto, tant'è che per avifauna uso 7D in abinamento o al 400L liscio per caccia itinerante, o al 500 f/4.5 (sia liscio che moltiplicato) per caccia da appostamento.

Mi è appena arrivato il kenko pro 300 dx 1.4 : aggancia la messa a fuoco ( pompone prima serie+6d) senza incertezze anche sui laterali persino in condizioni di luce pessimè. .la qualità ottica pare buona a brevi distanze( 6/10 metri) . Ps la 6d ha l'ultimo aggiornamento firmware.

Scusate se intervengo, ma come mai molti mi dicono che il 100-400 L IS II con 1.4x non mi fa avere Af sulla mia 6d?

e qui invece leggo di si?

il moltiplicatore canon NON va bene (perdi l'autofocus perché la 6d a f8 non mette a fuoco in automatico)

ho trovato una recensione che riguarda altre fotocamere

ma dice che funziona mantenendo anche qui l'autofocus
non so però i risultati sulla 6d

1.4 x mi andrebbe benissimo, vorrei info sul 2.0x (anche se sarebbe troppo buio credo)
