Nikkor AF 35-70 f/2.8 - Non mette a fuoco all'infinito da 40mm in giù

Ho da poco acquistato l'obiettivo in oggetto (usato) e mi sono accorto che alla focale di 35mm non mette correttamente a fuoco all'infinito, ma si ferma a circa 10/15 metri di distanza. In realtà questo succede a partire dai 45mm circa in giù, sopra queste focali non ha nessun problema. L'ho portato a revisionare, ma mi è stato detto che non è stato possibile sistemarlo.
Il problema si presenta anche usando la messa a fuoco manuale e su altri corpi macchina.
Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema o ha notizie di casi simili?

A 35 mm l'infinito si raggiunge molto prima di 10 mt. Sicuro che risulti sfocata la lunga distanza?

Il riferimento ai 10 metri è inteso come "soggetto a 10 metri" e non faccio riferimento alle distanze segnate sul barilotto. Ho fatto degli scatti con la messa a fuoco manuale e per mettere a fuoco soggetti posizionati oltre i 10/15 metri, raggiungo già il fondo scala e mancherebbe ancora un piccolo "passo" per averli perfetti.
