Ho provato a cercare nel forum ma non riesco a trovare l'info che mi interessa, forse banale ma comunque rilevante.

Ovvero, partendo da 80mm fino a che focale all'incirca riesce a mantenere gli f 4.5?

Qualcuno ha avuto modo di confrontarlo con il Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6 G ED VR? (il mio utilizzo sarebbe non professionistico)

Tra 4.5 e 5.6 non fa differenza... è circa 1/2 stop non te ne accorgi neanche.

io lo posseggio e mi pare intorno ai 135 rimane sui 4,5. ...però ha un VR micidiale

a 1/30 a mano libera su 400mm: foto perfette

Il mio provato adesso, 4,5 fino a 100 mm, 5,6 a 250mm.

Avendole avute entrambe e per un buon periodo assieme un minimo di esperienza son riuscito a farmela. Per ciò che riguarda l'80-400 G ha in primis il peso e la compattezza, poi AF straveloce (confrontato con gli altri tre zoom 2.8 della triade) e precisissimo, ancora mi duole la sua lontananza, ma "giocherellando" in naturalismo 100 mm con gli animali selvatici fanno la differenza per ciò ho preso il 200-500 molto più pesante e ingombrante a 500 mm diventa lunghissimo, quasi d'obbligo cavalletto o monopiede, il VR è sempre buono, AF a confronto con 80-400 molto meno reattivo ma comunque usato su serie D800 sempre preciso.. Considera bene il peso i l'ingombro, il 200-500 non è così versatile anche se offre buonissima qualità!

Difatti, volendolo abbinare alla Z6 II, propendevo per l'80-400 come versatilità. I 100mm non mi cambierebbero la vita.
Attendo solo di vedere l'uscita del Z 100-400 per capire se può avere senso l'investimento, essendo quest'ultimo, la naturale evoluzione dell'80-400 su ML Z.
