È tutto normale. Digli di comprare una scheda più veloce e si abbasserà il tempo di memorizzazione. Il suono dell'otturatore elettronico lo si può disabilitare da menu.
Il firmware va sempre aggiornato indipendentemente da eventuali problemi.
E digli alla tua amica di fidarsi e farsi meno paranoie MrGreen

Ma....il firmware di macchine e obiettivi, come si aggiorna?

Eh ma come si aggiorna? Si scarica su pc e poi bisogna collegare la macchina al pc?

Si scarica su SD, si mette la sd nella macchina e tieni premuto il tasto "disp" mentre accendi e dalle voci che usciranno sceglierai se aggiornare body o.lente

Non ce l'ho una fuji e di conseguenza non ho neanche nessun manuale. Ho avuto 3 Nikon, ma non ricordo nessun riferimento sui manuali (che ho letto) sugli aggiornamenti dei firmware

I manuali si scaricano in formato PDF dai siti delle case produttrici. Il cartaceo non serve.
Nei file PDF si possono fare le ricerche testuali.
Ad esempio si scrive: <<esposizione >> e saltan fuori tutte le pagine dove compare tale parola.
Ovviamente la parola è pure evidenziata.

Non c'è manco bisogno di leggere il manuyale, sul sito di fuji (e penso anche degli altri produttori) basta andare nella sezione firware update e spiegano tutto andando sugli oggetti di interesse:
