consiglio su sigma 18-200 'prima versione' usato per canon 450d

un saluto a tutti, sono nuovo del forum (e della fotografia con reflex).
premessa : ho una vecchia 450D acquistata su ebay con il 18-55 kit ed un sigma 28-80: avrei intenzione di venderli e prendere il sigma 18-200 prima versione come unico obiettivo universale che si trova attorno ai 100-150 euro (mio budget limite); l'attuale versione le cui recensioni sono ottime costa però troppo, altrimenti non avrei avuto dubbi.
lo utilizzerei in vacanza e qualche scatto macro senza pretese particolari, per non portarmi dietro borse e obiettivi diversi anche se più validi.
la vedete una scelta sensata, tenendo ben presente il mio livello 'entry' ? per migliorare poi, se la passione sboccia, c'è sempre tempo...
accetto volentieri anche consigli su eventuali alternative sempre sulla stessa tipologia di focale e prezzo.
