Hello everyone! Some time ago I've bought a pop-up blind and I would love to photograph small birds from it (blackbirds, robins, redstarts, etc.). I don't really have experience with using blinds so I thought I could ask more advanced photographers – do you have any advice for beginners in this matter? Do you think that using food to attract animals is a good idea – if so – what kind of food would be the best? Regards
yes you can use food to attract animals. for example, in my country they put bird food in open locations along with water so they attract the birds. depending on the bird, you could use the appropriate food. have in mind that, you might need to put food for some time before the area has visitors. they are gonna need some time to discover the new food source.
Thank you both very much! Here in Poland it's legal to feed wildlife (sadly there arn't any regulations regarding giving food to even big predators like wolves and bears and there are unethical commercial hides providing it - putting those animals and people, who come in contact with them in danger). It's an older question - I've had some luck photographing birds attracted with sunflower seed last winter. I'll probaly try building small pool for birds in my garden this summer
