Patrick, queste sono le ottiche che ho a casa, e sono mie. Il 400 f/5,6 non l'ho mai preso in considerazione per comprarlo perche' serve solo ed esclusivamente per una cosa: avifauna in volo e non appostata.

1- non e' stabilizzato
2- ha una distanza di messa a fuoco minima ridicola (oltre 3 metri)
3- scarsamente moltiplicabile (f/5,6)

Per il resto ha il vantaggio di essere leggero, AF molto veloce, Qualita' di immagine molto buona e molto nitido. Ora come ora specie per me che faccio molti tipi di fotografia (pochissima avifauna) ho optato per altro. Quindi non ce l'ho, mi dispiace di non poterlo provare. Ma ne ho sempre sentito parlare molto bene, tant'evvero che e' ancora in produzione dopo millenni.

Grazie molte per le prove e per il tempi che ci hai perso.

Ti chiedo però solo una cosa:
Postare i jpg a piena risoluzione magari caricandoli su un dropbox o quì sul forum, e ripetere il test anche a f8 dove le lenti moltiplicate recupereranno di sicuro molta nitidezza.

Immagino. Era solo per rispondere a Vigna perché mi sembrava ironico il fatto di considerare i 400 do. Tutto qua

A me piacerebbe un sacco cambiare il 300 f/2,8 IS con il II che pare regga molto meglio gli extenders. Solo che tutti i nuovi supertele Canon sono oramai inarrivabili come prezzo. Francamente preferisco tenere quelli che ho (300 e 500) la cui qualita' e' piu' che accetabile e spendere in viaggi.
