Ho visto una foto di Robert Capa a proposito della guerra in Spagna.. Ecco un grande reporter di guerra da ammirare...
Come tanti la passione per la fotografia mi è nata attraverso le immagini di National Geographic e i negativi di mia madre..

Sicuramente Capa è il riferimento del reportage di guerra, ma non dimentichiamo il già citato W. Eugene Smith (per me straordinario), poi Margaret Bourke-White (che è stata la prima donna in tante cose, tra le quali appunto la prima corrispondente di guerra) e, per aggiungere ancora qualcosina venendo ad anni più recenti, un tale che chiama James Nachtwey:

La definizione di "cartolina" affibbiata al lavoro di Ansel Adams è inesatta e fa sorridere ma l'uso che i posteri ne hanno fatto e l'eredità distorta da parte di migliaia di fotografi seguaci rasenta proprio quell'effetto.
Qui sotto riporto una frase tratta da un lungo articolo critico dedicato in realtà ai New Topographics:

"Indeed, whereas Ansel Adams's work remains a popular subject for coffee table books and an adornment of Sierra Club wall and engagement calendars, few today outside the art world and cultural élite are familiar with New Topographics".
